only for the finest mens shirts, our bedding made with GIZA 45 cotton
is the softest, smoothest and most luxurious that you will ever find.
There
is an extremely fertile region along the Nile River in Egypt called
Kafir S'AD. The soil is special, but acreage is limited. This is where
this extraordinary Giza cotton is grown. This expensive,
super-long-staple cotton represents just 0.4% of Egypt's total annual
cotton production and to date has not been used for commercially
available sheets.
Giza
yarns are sold by the number - like a golf score, the lower the number,
the better. SFERRA uses Giza 70 yarns in the production of the core
line of Italian woven sheets. Giza 45, even finer that Giza 70, is
considered the world's finest super-long staple cotton yarn. Due to
its small yield, it has primarily only been used for fine men's
shirting. However, by building direct relationships with these
manufacturers, SFERRA is able to obtain a percentage of their
production.
